From the desk of the Editor-in-chief (Vol – 2)

As Editor-in-Chief of Campus Chronicles, I have always believed our pages must do more than document events — they must inspire action. This International Women’s Day, March 8, 2026, the theme “Give To Gain” is not merely a slogan; it is a responsibility.

At its heart, the message is simple yet
transformative: when we give opportunity, mentorship, respect, and space to women, we do not lose power – we multiply it. When one woman rises, institutions rise with her.

On a personal note, this theme resonates deeply with me. Watching my two daughters navigate their worlds reminds me why this day matters so profoundly on our campus. One, a budding artist, captures bold visions of equality — her imagination a reminder that creativity fuels progress. The other, a fierce debater, challenges norms with a confident “why not?” whenever confronted with barriers. In their curiosity and courage, I see the blueprint of the empowered women our students can become. And I am compelled to ask: What are we giving to the next generation here? Our campus is not short of trailblazers. We have professors leading path breaking research in STEM, student leaders organizing equality initiatives, and young women excelling in academics, arts, and advocacy. Yet we must acknowledge that gaps persist — fewer women in top leadership roles, underre presentation in certain decision-making forums, and subtle biases that sometimes go unchallenged in classrooms and corridors. The global call this year echoes the spirit of “Rights. Justice. Action for All Women.” It reminds us that celebration without commitment is incomplete. Recognition must be accompanied by reform. If  we truly believe in “Give To Gain,” then giving must become intentional.

Let us give:
• Time — by mentoring young women across disciplines.
• Platforms — by amplifying their research, art, and ideas.
• Leadership opportunities — by ensuring equitable representation in councils and committees.
• Skill-sharing spaces — through workshops
where women empower women

In return, we will gain a stronger academic culture, more innovative thinking, and a campus that reflects the equity it proudly speaks of.

As Editor-in-Chief, I also commit that Campus Chronicles will continue to spotlight women achievers, question disparities, and create dialogue that moves beyond symbolism. Our pages will not only celebrate strength — they will help sustain it.

This Women’s Day, let us move from admiration to action. Let us build systems that nurture confidence, cultivate leadership, and normalize equality. Because when we give with intention, we gain not only empowered women — we gain a more just, dynamic, and future-ready campus.  And that is a legacy worth creating.
